Jane Brennan Licensed Psychotherapist
Jane moved to Cairo, Egypt with her family in 1998. She spent several years working at Community Service Association in Maadi as Director of Expatriate Services implementing seminars and providing individual counseling for new families to help the transition of moving and getting settled in a new country.
Jane spent nearly 7 years at the American University Cairo Student Wellness Center and also maintained a private practice. Much of what she had learned earlier about expatriate psychology created a niche for her to help AUC students coming in and out of study abroad.
Jane worked at a Psychiatric Hospital with inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient. She’s also experienced in community mental health working at a ‘Women in Transition’ counseling center where she obtained specialized training in anxiety and depression. She counseled individuals and conducted weekly therapy groups for those with diagnosed anxiety disorders.
Later years, Jane was asked to work with a newly opened grief center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This center combined with the incredible grief therapists inspired a passion to continue her training and became a specialist in education and support through the grief process. She continued her work in Denver, CO at the Heart Light Grief Center caring for individuals, couples, families and served as a co-therapist in group work.
