Sherry George Counseling Psychologist, M.A
Sherry is a Counseling Psychologist. She has a Master of Arts (MA) in International Counseling and Community Psychology from the American University in Cairo (AUC). She has more than 2 years of experience working with adolescences and adults dealing with emotional, cognitive or behavioral problems or disorders.
She completed her clinical internship at various NGOs and counseling centers. She has worked at the Psychology training center at AUC. Most of her experience is focused on working with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, identity development, self-esteem issues, stress and anger issues.
Sherry has received intensive training and workshops on different psychotherapy approaches. She works using an integrative interpersonal model applying some cognitive behavioral therapy along with existential psychotherapy techniques. She designed and implemented school based prevention and intervention programs for young adults ranging between grade 8 through grade 12. The focus of the training has been on helping teens form their own identity, build healthy boundaries, and assertiveness skills.
Sherry is skilled in training, teaching, and mentoring along with assessing her clients’ needs and offering them treatment programs. .
