Nelly Karrar is an Existential Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is deeply committed to her work and continuously invests in her professional development to ensure the highest standard of therapeutic care. In 2016, she founded The Wellness Hub, where she has spent the past decade leading a multidisciplinary team while also providing clinical leadership and therapy. She views her professional journey as a continuous learning curve—drawing insights from both organizational responsibilities , clinical practice , and personal journey. This blend of experiences enriches her ability to connect with clients on a deeper level and to support those navigating complex personal and professional transitions.
As an Existential Psychotherapist, Nelly’s approach centers on creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space that encourages growth and healing. She values each individual’s uniqueness and believes that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for building trust, facilitating change, and fostering progress. Ultimately, her goal is to cultivate self-awareness and help clients discover meaning, empowering them to live with greater authenticity. Nelly has supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, eating disorders, grief, relationship and family difficulties, gender identity concerns, and self-esteem issues.
In collaboration with NGOs, Nelly has led multiple groups in Cairo and Alexandria focused on addressing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) among women refugees in Egypt, with the goal of empowering participants to develop coping strategies and build resilience. Her professional journey began at Behman Psychiatric Hospital, where she trained in the Psychology Unit and later worked in the Addiction Ward. She went on to serve as a counselor at the American University in Cairo’s Office of Student Well-Being and has worked extensively in private practice across leading psychology centers in Egypt.
In March 2025, she earned a Certificate in Augmented Psychotherapy from the MIND Foundation in Berlin, Germany, positioning her among the first psychotherapists in Egypt and the Middle East to be certified in this emerging field. Her training provided in-depth expertise in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and Integration-Focused Psychotherapy, equipping her to help clients safely integrate their psychedelic experiences, maximize therapeutic benefits, and minimize potential psychological risks.
She is currently completing certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. Passionate about reducing stigma around mental illness, Nelly is committed to raising awareness and making psychological care more accessible. She actively works to expand conversations on mental well-being and to promote therapy as a normal, accessible, and valuable resource fo personal growth.
