Mira is a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. She completed her MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University. Prior to this, Mira earned her BA in Psychology from The American University in Cairo (AUC).
During her masters, she trained in the United Kingdom, gaining valuable experience at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, where she offered bereavement counselling. She also trained with Healthbox CIC, providing general counselling. She has seen clients from a diverse age range of 21 to 60 years, and has experience with anxiety, depression, grief & loss, career stress, relationship difficulties, and gender identity. She has worked both face-to-face and online.
As an active member of the British Association for Counselling Psychologists (BACP), Mira’s commitment revolves around prioritising the wellbeing and safety of clients by working ethically. She is also committed to continued professional development as per BACP guidelines.
Mira has completed courses in Essentials of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT for Anxiety from the Beck Institute. She has received clinical training at various renowned hospitals like Al Mashfa Hospital & Resort.
Mira’s practice is grounded in the person-centred approach where she trusts in the transformative potential of the therapeutic relationship. She aims to facilitate a non-judgmental, empathic, and honest space for clients to explore whatever it is they are bringing. Collaboratively, she integrates other therapeutic modalities as necessary, always valuing the autonomy of each client.
She can conduct therapy sessions in English and Arabic.
